Your Housing Group is seeking a Building Surveyor to join the Repairs Operations team in the Repairs & Maintenance division. The role focuses on property surveys, coordinating with contractors and others to plan and deliver high-quality repairs across a defined geographic patch.
You will undertake inspections (diagnostic, structural, insurable losses) and monitor delivery to ensure cost-effective, high-standard outcomes while adhering to health and safety, GDPR and safeguarding requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Building Surveyor to work within the Repairs Operations team of our in house Repairs & Maintenance Division, here at YHG. The role will focus on carrying out a wide range of property surveys as well as providing a technicalsupportfunction to our colleagues across the wider organisation.
We are looking for a technicallycompetentand motivatedindividualwho has fantastic people skills for this customer focused role.
We have properties in Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Crewe and Yorkshire and the successful candidate will be given a geographic patch to cover although there may be the requirement to travel to any of these areas to cover for colleagues in the team when needed.
You will also live within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses.
First and foremost, you will be required to undertake a range of inspections including diagnostic, structural, and investigation of insurable losses todetermineand provide a schedule of work for our contractors.
You will also monitor delivery by carrying out progress and post completion inspections to ensure work is completed cost effectively to a high standard.

The health, safety and well-being of our customers, colleagues and members of the public is paramount and so you will be expected tobe fully conversant with all relevant Health & Safety legislation along with GDPR and Safeguarding.
The role will also involve liaising with colleagues in other teams such as reinvestment to recommend works for inclusion in future programmes or our tenancy management team to providesupportand assistance for each other.
You will be assigned andrespondto feedback received from our customers to identify areas of service failure,agreesteps for resolution and make recommendations for improvements to prevent re occurrence in future.
To be a successful as a Building Surveyor , here at YHG, you will have…. A relevant qualification such as a degree in Building Surveying Experience of working in a social housing environment Sound construction knowledge Be fully conversant with building regulations approved documents, the party wall act and planning application process IT literate with experience of systems such as Orchard, Keystone and Accuserve Ideally you will be a collaborative team player, self-motivated and flexible in your approach that strives for excellence in all that you do This role is really suited to someone who has stronginterpersonalskills with a customer focused approached to service delivery alongside proven planning, coordinating and organisational skill.
In return we offer £40,000 - £42,000 for a 35-hour week, and 26 days annual leave (holidays also increase with time served) plus Bank Holidays, but our employee offer provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance.
