Sodexo Group is seeking a Building Services Multiskilled Technician to join our Reading site. You will carry out maintenance across building services, diagnose faults, and ensure safe, compliant operation of all systems.

This role offers a clear career path with opportunities for professional development and exposure to Hard FM and Technical Facilities Services. You will work Monday to Friday, participate in an emergency call-out rota, and contribute to continuous improvements on site.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical or equivalent.
• Approximately 2 years' relevant engineering/building services maintenance experience.
• Experience with CMMS and electrical fault finding.

Responsabilités

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building services.
• Diagnose faults and perform safe repairs within your capabilities.
• Undertake routine inspections to keep systems safe and compliant.
• Support on-site subcontractors and assist with small installations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and use CMMS for updates.
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency call-outs.

Join our team and play a key role in delivering excellence and innovation in Hard FM and Technical Facilities Services.

As a Building Services Multiskilled Technician you’ll:

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of building services and engineering assets.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently within your technical capabilities.
• Undertake routine maintenance, inspections and servicing to ensure building systems remain safe, compliant and operational.
• Carry out like-for-like asset replacements and support minor installation and new works as required.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests, prioritising work to meet agreed service levels and deadlines.
• Complete appropriate risk assessments and safe systems of work before undertaking maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant statutory requirements, Health & Safety legislation, engineering standards and industry best practice.
• Support and supervise specialist subcontractors while they are carrying out works on site.
• Participate in the emergency call-out rota, attending site out of hours when engineering support is required.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time spent, materials used and any follow-up actions required.
• Use computerised maintenance management systems to update jobs and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Maintain tools, equipment and PPE in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Build positive working relationships with customers, colleagues, contractors and other site stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and practical support to apprentices where required.
• Consider cost, efficiency and sustainability when carrying out maintenance and repair activities.
• Complete required training and competency assessments to maintain and develop your technical skills.

What we're looking for:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical or equivalent – essential.
• Around 2 years' relevant engineering/building services maintenance experience.
• Practical electrical engineering and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working independently within a technical maintenance or building services environment.
• A good understanding of engineering compliance, regulations and industry best practice.
• Experience working with safe systems of work, risk assessments and Health & Safety procedures.
• The ability to diagnose faults and determine appropriate solutions within your level of competence.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage your own workload.
• The ability to prioritise planned and reactive maintenance to meet deadlines.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using a CMMS.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive, resourceful and resilient approach to problem-solving.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Flexibility to participate in out-of-hours emergency call-outs when required.
