Rullion Managed Services is seeking a Building Services Lead to oversee the design, delivery and commissioning of building services on a major UK infrastructure project in the nuclear sector. This role offers hybrid working with access to a Bristol office.

You will coordinate technical interfaces, review designs and drive quality across multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements and ensure compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building services engineering, ideally in a lead or senior capacity.
• Strong understanding of building services design, construction and commissioning.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects and interfaces.

Responsabilités

• Oversee building services design for permanent ancillary buildings across design/construction stages.
• Develop technical specifications and assess contractor bids.
• Monitor subcontracted design activities for compliance with project requirements.

Building Services Lead

Hybrid Working - Remote / Bristol | Up to £360 per day PAYE / £490 per day Umbrella (DOE) - Inside IR35 | 12 month contract with possibility of extension

We're looking for an experienced Building Services Lead to support the design, delivery and commissioning of building services across a major UK infrastructure project within the nuclear sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile, low-carbon energy project, overseeing building services design activities and working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, external consultants and contractors to ensure designs meet the required technical and quality standards.

The Role

You'll play a key role in overseeing building services design for permanent ancillary buildings, supporting delivery across various stages of design and construction.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the development of technical specifications for building services designs.


• Contributing to technical assessments of contractor and consultant bids.


• Overseeing and monitoring subcontracted design activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.


• Leading and supporting design reviews, resolving technical issues and challenging proposed solutions where necessary.


• Coordinating technical interfaces, design changes and non-conformances across the wider engineering team.


• Supporting construction, installation and commissioning activities, including the assessment of proposed changes.


• Liaising with commissioning teams to ensure contractor proposals align with project requirements and commissioning sequences.


• Applying quality assurance processes and coordinating with engineering, procurement, design and construction stakeholders.


• Acting as a key point of contact for building services matters, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of technical issues.

About You

• Proven experience in building services engineering, ideally in a lead or senior engineering capacity.


• A strong technical understanding of building services design, construction and commissioning.


• Experience in building design and multidisciplinary project coordination.


• Knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work and CIBSE standards.


• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.


• The confidence to challenge technical proposals constructively and coordinate multiple stakeholders.


• A professional, results-focused approach, with a strong commitment to quality and confidentiality.

Contract Details

• Position: Building Services Lead


• Working arrangement: Hybrid - remote working with access to a Bristol office


• Rate: Up to £360 per day PAYE / £490 per day Umbrella, depending on experience


• Contract: 12 month rolling contract
