Job summary

Wates Group in Guildford is offering a Building Services Engineering Trainee programme. You will gain hands-on experience across mechanical and electrical services, contributing to safe, efficient, and sustainable buildings while working with experienced teams.

The programme covers design, installation, testing, and handover across the project lifecycle, with mentoring and access to professional qualifications while pursuing Level 4 apprenticeship if needed.

Qualifications

• By September 2027 you must have obtained a bachelor's degree with a predicted or achieved classification of 2:2 or above.
• Your degree subject must be relevant to the position.
• A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of how mechanical and electrical building services are designed, coordinated, installed and maintained throughout a project's lifecycle.
• Review technical information, drawings and specifications to support delivery of high-quality building services solutions.
• Research current technologies and sustainability initiatives to identify efficient project solutions.
• Support monitoring of project progress, milestones and engineering deliverables.
• Assist in reviewing quality and compliance of installations carried out by subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Gain understanding of testing, commissioning and handover activities for building services systems.
