Building Safety Officer

Type: Permanent

Grade: 4 - £33,366 - £40,476

Consultation grade: subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working hours: 36.5 hours per week

Role Overview

This position supports the Senior Building Manager in ensuring the Council meets its statutory building safety obligations as a responsible landlord. The role focuses on enhancing the safety of residents, properties, compliance, and stock condition.

As a member of a professional team, you will provide assurance to senior management that building, fire, and statutory compliance requirements within the residential stock are effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring compliance through site-based inspections and checks, supported by a Building Safety Manager.
• Maintain accurate stock data and building information to inform safety case information.
• Engage with stakeholders and conduct inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards are met.
• Contribute to delivering high-quality asset management services and fostering a culture of trust and high performance.
