Job summary

Warwick District Council is seeking a Building Safety and Compliance Manager to shape and lead its Housing Compliance Team, ensuring safe homes for residents. The role provides strategic leadership, risk management and compliance with statutory requirements, influencing governance and regulatory outcomes.

You will drive safety programmes, audits and policy development while leading a multidisciplinary team to promote a culture of accountability and high standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of building safety, fire safety and property compliance legislation.
• Significant leadership and people management experience.
• Experience of managing contractors, budgets and key stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication and report-writing skills.
• A relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent certification, together with membership of an appropriate professional body.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Council’s approach to building safety and property compliance.
• Oversee inspection, servicing, testing and remedial work programmes.
• Manage compliance audits, risks, budgets and contractor performance.
• Provide assurance reports and advice to senior managers, elected members and regulatory bodies.

Are you an experienced building safety and compliance professional looking for an opportunity to shape and lead a high-profile service?

We are looking for a Building Safety and Compliance Manager to lead our Housing Compliance Team and play a key role in keeping our residents safe in their homes.

This is a new and influential role with responsibility for providing strategic leadership, managing compliance risks and ensuring our housing services meet all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
