This BMS Commissioning Engineer position is based in St Paul's, London, and offers a salary of up to £75,000 plus benefits. The role is with a leading facilities and engineering services provider, working across high-profile client sites in Central London.
This is a fully onsite position, working five days per week, and would suit an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in building controls, HVAC systems and BMS commissioning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning, testing and validating Building Management Systems, ensuring controls operate in line with design specifications and client requirements. You'll work closely with project teams, site engineers, subcontractors and customers to deliver BMS projects through commissioning and successful handover.
Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys would be beneficial, although training can be provided.

What You'll Be Doing
- Commissioning Building Management Systems across commercial and critical building environments.
- Carrying out point-to-point checks, functional testing and validation of BMS controls.
- Testing and commissioning HVAC control strategies, including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, boilers, chillers and associated plant.
- Investigating and resolving BMS faults, alarms, communication issues and control problems during commissioning.
- Reviewing control strategies, schematics and technical documentation to ensure systems meet project specifications.
- Supporting BMS software modifications, graphics, control logic and system configuration where required.
- Testing field devices, sensors, actuators and control panels to ensure correct operation.
- Supporting integration between BMS platforms and third-party building systems.
- Working closely with project managers, engineers and subcontractors throughout the commissioning process.
- Producing commissioning documentation, test sheets and reports for project handover.
- Providing technical support during client demonstrations, witnessing and final system handover.
- Ensuring all commissioning activities are completed safely and in line with relevant standards and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a BMS Commissioning Engineer or in a similar building controls role.
- Strong knowledge of BMS controls, commissioning processes and building services systems.
- Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
- Good understanding of HVAC plant and control strategies.
- Strong fault-finding, testing and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret control panel drawings, schematics and points schedules.
- Understanding of BMS communication protocols and networking principles.
- Experience commissioning field controllers, sensors, actuators and associated BMS equipment.
- Previous experience within commercial, facilities management or critical environments would be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, project teams and clients.
