Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a BMS Commissioning Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of BMS projects from London. This contract role spans approximately nine months and focuses on delivering high-quality commissioning activities on time and within scope.

You will act as the main client contact, oversee system configuration, and ensure successful project handover. Applicants should have strong hands-on commissioning and experience with BMS software and live electrical/control systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer.
• Proven delivery of multiple commissioning projects, including complex schemes.
• Live electrical/control systems background.
• Experience with BMS software and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end BMS project lifecycle, ensuring on-time delivery and scope adherence.
• Develop and maintain project schedules with milestones and progress tracking.
• Produce and submit all project documentation for client approval.
• Act as primary client interface and manage expectations and satisfaction.
• Coordinate with panel manufacturers, electrical installers and engineering teams.
• Configure or oversee BMS software strategies and commissioning activities.

Job Summary:

As a BMS Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of Building Management System (BMS) projects, ensuring all technical and commissioning activities are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. You will act as the key point of contact for clients, oversee system configuration and commissioning, and ensure successful project delivery and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Manage end-to-end BMS project lifecycle, ensuring all technical and commissioning aspects are delivered on time and within scope.
• Program & Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, tracking actual progress against planned milestones.
• Documentation: Produce, manage, and submit all project documentation, ensuring compliance and client approval.
• Client Liaison: Act as the primary client interface, managing expectations, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction.
• System Coordination: Coordinate with panel manufacturers, electrical installers, and engineering teams to implement BMS solutions in line with specifications.
• Software & Control Systems: Configure and/or oversee BMS software strategies to meet operational and performance requirements, lead or support commissioning activities, ensuring systems are fully functional and meet design intent.
• Project Handover: Conduct system demonstrations, organize handover documentation, and ensure successful project completion.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer
• Proven delivery of at least 5 commissioning projects, including major/complex projects
• Strong hands‑on commissioning and project delivery experience
• Background working with live electrical/control systems

Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of:
• HVAC & BMS fundamentals
• BMS commissioning (UK & Ireland standards)
• BMS software (e.g., Trend, Schneider, Tridium, Johnson Controls Metasys or similar)
• Design and technical documentation
• Networking protocols and IT infrastructure
• Control systems, integration, and mechanical principles

Certifications

• ECS / CSCS Card (or equivalent)
• SMSTS / SSSTS
• SIS Modbus Certification (preferred)

Additional Capabilities

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated leadership in commissioning and site coordination
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver under project constraints
• Proven ability to lead commissioning activities to successful completion
