Job Description:

To ensure we continue to fully support our business, we need to recruit an additional Building Maintenance Technician to join our busy and friendly team. As our Building Maintenance Technician, you will help to ensure all buildings and plant are maintained and repaired to provide continuous operation across our four Avonmouth sites. This includes PPMs and general reactive building repairs, as well as supervising contractors for specialist areas. Working as a Building Maintenance Technician for Nisbets offers a varied workload that keeps you interested and challenged, with the freedom to suggest improvements to our ways of working. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 5.15 pm, plus a team rota covering out-of-hours call-outs.

What will I be doing as a Building Maintenance Technician?

• Plan and carry out agreed PPMs and inspections according to schedules.
• Attend and resolve reactive call-outs and emergency issues, identifying root causes and planning resolutions, either directly or by calling in specialists.
• Maintain records in line with Nisbets policies and procedures.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and order as needed.
• Perform dynamic risk assessments and ensure all work complies with safety standards.
• Undertake improvement projects as part of the maintenance team.
• Supervise external contractors, review risk assessments and method statements, issue permits, and sign off work.
• Manage service desk calls, update logs, and track tasks.
