Job Description:

To ensure we continue to fully support our business, we need to recruit an additional Building Maintenance Technician to join our busy and friendly team. As our Building Maintenance Technician, you will help to ensure all buildings and plant are maintained and repaired to provide continuous operation across our four Avonmouth sites. This includes PPMs and general reactive building repairs as well as the supervision of contractors to cover specialist areas. Working as a Building Maintenance Technician for Nisbets, you can expect a varied workload that will keep you interested and challenged, with the freedom to come up with ideas to improve our ways of working. Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 17:15, plus a team rota covering out-of-hours call-outs.

What will I be doing as a Building Maintenance Technician?

1. Plan and carry out agreed PPMs and inspections in line with scheduled plans.
2. Attend and resolve reactive call outs and emergency issues, identifying root causes and planning resolutions, either directly or by calling out a specialist contractor.
3. Keep all necessary records in line with Nisbets policies and procedures.
4. Maintain an inventory of spare parts and place timely orders as necessary.
5. Undertake dynamic risk assessments for own work, ensuring all work is completed in line with risk assessments and method statements.
6. Participate in improvement projects and tasks as part of the maintenance team.
7. Coordinate with external specialist contractors, reviewing risk assessments and method statements, issuing permits to work, and supervising and signing off their work.
8. Manage and assign calls on the service desk, updating logs and tasks accordingly.
