Job summary

SOCOTEC UK Building and Real Estate division is seeking a Building Inspector to join the Derby team. You will inspect construction sites, advise on Building Regulations, and collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure safe, compliant buildings.

As a Registered Building Inspector, you will perform site visits, produce inspection reports, and help clients with regulatory compliance. The role offers training and opportunities within SOCOTEC's national network, with flexible working

Qualifications

• Professional qualification and regulatory registration at senior level – Hold membership of RICS, CABE or equivalent (or be qualified by suitable experience).
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills to work with clients and project teams.
• Self-starting problem-solver with technical expertise and knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and regulatory assessments across construction stages to ensure Building Regulations compliance.
• Supervise inspection activities, enforce regulatory standards, and issue notices on breaches under applicable acts.
• Prepare inspection reports, certificates, and regulatory documentation for clients and authorities.
