Job summary

SOCOTEC UK Building & Real Estate division is seeking a proactive Building Inspector to join our Wakefield team. You will inspect construction sites, advise on Building Regulations, and work with architects, builders and developers to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable buildings.

You will be responsible for detailed compliance reports, regulatory documentation, and providing consultancy where SOCOTEC is not acting as RBI.

Qualifications

• Membership of RICS, CABE or equivalent (or suitable experience) to demonstrate regulatory registration
• CPD requirements to broaden and develop skills
• Registration as RBI at an appropriate level to supervise inspections

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and regulatory assessments across construction stages to ensure Building Regulations compliance
• Supervise inspection activities, enforce regulatory compliance, and issue notices under Building Safety Act 2022
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, certificates and regulatory documentation for clients and local authorities
