Job summary

Crescent Specialist Recruitment (CSR) is recruiting a Building Estimator to join a well-established construction contractor active across the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will produce accurate cost estimates from enquiry to tender, collaborating with commercial, design and operations teams to secure projects.

With a workload spanning from £500,000 to £10 million, you will operate within a proactive pre-construction team, balancing robust pricing with value engineering and market

Qualifications

• 3–8 years' experience in estimating roles within construction or general building.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of general building projects.
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Produce Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules, and tender submissions.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Support bid presentations and tender negotiations.
• Collaborate closely with commercial, project management, and design teams.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market rates, construction methods, and industry trends.

Building Estimator - General Building

Our client is a well-established and highly respected construction contractor operating across the UK and Ireland. Renowned for delivering high-quality general building projects, they work across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, and residential.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and projects ranging from £500,000 to £10 million, they have built an excellent reputation for quality, professionalism, and long-standing client relationships.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Estimator to join their expanding pre-construction team.

This is a key position where you'll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission. Working closely with commercial, design, and operational teams, you'll help secure new projects while ensuring pricing is commercially robust and competitive.

Key Responsibilities
