Job summary

Amey is recruiting a General Building Engineer on-site at HMP Stocken, Rutland. This full-time role (39 hours per week) involves a mix of planned and reactive maintenance within a secure environment, and sits within a long-term, stable contract that supports career progression.

You will carry out building maintenance, support fire safety, emergency lighting, water systems, basic testing, and assist with CCTV/alarms.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance or facilities management.
• Skills across fire safety, doors, alarms, lighting or water systems.
• Basic IT skills for job logging and systems.

Responsibilities

• General building maintenance and minor repairs across site.
• Supporting fire safety systems (extinguishers, fire doors, alarms).
• Emergency lighting checks and testing
• Water safety tasks (temperature checks, flushing)
• Basic testing (e.g. RCDs, misting units)
• Assisting with security systems such as CCTV and alarms
• Managing jobs and updates through CAFM systems
