Amey is seeking a hands-on Building Engineer for on-site work at HMP Stocken, Rutland. You will perform general building maintenance, support fire safety systems and assist with security systems, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance or facilities management.
• Skills across fire safety, doors, alarms, lighting or water systems.
• Basic IT skills for job logging.
• Proactive approach with strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• General building maintenance and minor repairs across site.
• Support fire safety systems (extinguishers, fire doors, alarms).
• Emergency lighting checks and testing.
• Water safety tasks (temperature checks, flushing).
• Basic testing (e.g. RCDs, misting units).
• Assisting with security systems such as CCTV and alarms.
• Managing jobs and updates through CAFM systems.
