Serco Limited at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join the Estates team, maintaining and improving a critical healthcare environment. You will perform maintenance, repairs and refurbishment to ensure safety and functionality across the hospital estate.

The role supports new works, on-call shifts and apprentices induction, with extensive training and a strong emphasis on safety and collaboration.

Qualifikationen

• NVQ Level 2 minimum or City and Guilds qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven knowledge of building maintenance, repair techniques and construction methods.
• Ability to identify faults, assess issues and determine practical solutions.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and customers.

Aufgaben

• Carry out building maintenance, repairs and refurbishment works within your core trade discipline.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance activities across the hospital estate.
• Assist with other trade activities where required, following appropriate training and supervision.
• Work independently to diagnose building fabric defects and implement effective solutions.
• Support new works and improvement projects as directed by supervisors and management.
• Maintain accurate records, timesheets and other work-related documentation.
• Contribute to audits, surveys and inspections as required.
• Participate in the emergency on-call rota and respond to urgent maintenance issues.
• Support the development and induction of apprentices, trainees and new colleagues.
• Comply with all health and safety policies, procedures and legislation.

What you'll do as a Carpenter

Vetting and checks

A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
