Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Class 3 Registered Building Inspector for a full-time, contract role up to 12 months to support higher-risk residential building remediation and enforcement work in the public sector.

Your responsibilities include carrying out inspections of higher-risk residential buildings, assessing external wall systems and unsafe cladding, reviewing fire safety risks, gathering evidence, and supporting enforcement investigations and case progression.

Qualifications

• Class 3 registration as a Registered Building Inspector.
• Significant experience in building control or regulatory enforcement.
• Knowledge of higher-risk residential buildings and unsafe cladding.
• Understanding of fire safety and remediation requirements.
• Experience of inspections, assessments, evidence gathering and enforcement investigations.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking inspections of higher-risk residential buildings
• Assessing external wall systems and unsafe cladding and proposed remediation solutions
• Reviewing fire safety and building safety risks associated with complex cases
• Supporting enforcement investigations, evidence gathering and case progression
• Providing expert technical advice on building control and remediation matters
• Supporting decisions relating to interim safety measures
• Assisting with the escalation of cases to the Building Safety Regulator where appropriate
• Contributing to MHCLG and DELTA reporting requirements and supporting resident engagement
