Carrington West is seeking a Building Control Technical Support Officer in Greater Manchester to deliver technical and administrative support for Building Control applications. The role involves registration, validation and proactive management of regulatory submissions, liaising with applicants and professionals, and ensuring timely processing within statutory timescales.

The contract is initially 6 months, based in Greater Manchester, at £25 per hour for a 37-hour week.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a technical support or administrative role within Building Control or a similar local authority regulatory service.
• Good understanding of Building Control processes and associated administrative procedures.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and workloads.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with internal teams, external professionals and members of the public.
• Good IT skills, including experience using databases and case management systems.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical and administrative support to the Building Control team, ensuring the efficient processing of applications and enquiries.
• Assist with the registration, validation and management of Building Regulations applications.
• Maintain accurate records and update Building Control databases and case management systems.
• Liaise with applicants, architects, developers and members of the public regarding Building Control matters.
• Support Building Control Surveyors with documentation, correspondence and the progression of applications.
• Assist with the preparation and issuing of statutory notices, certificates and other relevant documentation.
• Ensure enquiries and applications are handled efficiently and in accordance with relevant procedures and statutory timescales.
