Job summary

Huws Gray Norwich Barker Street is looking for a Sales Person who enjoys talking to customers, building relationships and helping them select the right materials.

You’ll quote, respond to enquiries, manage admin, and work with yard and counter teams to create a welcoming, efficient shopping experience. Training and development opportunities are available to help you grow with our business.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, good computer literacy, and previous retail or sales experience will help you thrive in this role.
• Strong product knowledge and a background within a builders’ merchant environment would also be a real advantage.
• If you’re passionate about helping customers and have a genuine interest in building materials, we’ll give you all the training and support you need to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Building connections with customers in person, over the phone, and in-branch, providing expert advice.
• Creating tailored solutions—preparing quotes, following up on enquiries, and developing leads.
• Keeping admin tasks running smoothly and efficiently.
• Offering guidance with up-to-date product knowledge to help customers choose materials.
• Enhancing the shopping experience with well-stocked displays.
• Collaborating across the branch with yard and counter sales to support the team.
