Job summary

Huws Gray Oakham is seeking a Sales Person to join our Oakham branch. You’ll build connections with customers in person and over the phone, provide expert product advice, and help drive branch success. We’ll look for enthusiasm for building materials, strong customer service, and a willingness to learn in a supportive team.

You’ll handle inquiries, prepare quotes, and contribute to a well-presented, welcoming branch environment with excellent service at its core.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Sales experience or knowledge of building materials would be a bonus, but not essential.
• Strong time keeping, organisation and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Building connections with customers in person, over the phone, and in the branch or yard, providing expert advice.
• Creating tailored solutions—preparing quotes, following up on enquiries, and developing leads.
• Keeping things running smoothly—managing essential admin efficiently.
• Offering guidance—with up-to-date product knowledge to help customers find the best materials.
• Enhancing the shopping experience—maintaining well-stocked, inviting displays.
• Collaborating across the branch with colleagues, including yard and counter sales, to support the team.
