Job summary

Macdonald & Company is seeking a General Manager to oversee a premium Build-to-Rent development in Manchester, directing day-to-day operations, resident services, leasing, facilities and on-site team management.

You will lead with a customer-first focus, maintain high service standards, manage budgets and contractors, monitor occupancy and renewals, and work with the wider portfolio to drive commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Leadership and people-management experience.
• P&L and budget management experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Good knowledge of the UK rental market and BTR sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operation and presentation of the development.
• Build strong relationships with residents and create a welcoming community.
• Manage resident enquiries, issues and service requests.
• Oversee contractors, maintenance, cleaning and site services.
• Maintain high standards across health & safety, fire safety, security and compliance.
• Manage incidents and provide support during out-of-hours emergencies where required.
• Support apartment inspections, move-ins, viewings and lettings activity.
• Monitor local rental trends and support renewals and occupancy.
• Assist with budgets, expenditure monitoring and operational reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and resident satisfaction.
