Job summary

West One Loans is seeking a detail-oriented underwriter to assess and process mortgage applications, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping on the Fusion platform.

You will evaluate deals against underwriting criteria, communicate clearly with brokers, and maintain a robust pipeline while adhering to AML/KYC obligations and internal policies. A strong understanding of FCA rules and BTL mortgage experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of FCA regulation.
• Experience underwriting mortgage applications in the BTL market.
• CeMAP qualification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Enter and update borrower data on Fusion lending platform.
• Ensure all aspects of loans are recorded accurately and compliant with underwriting guidelines.
• Assess mortgage applications to ensure underwriting criteria are met.
• Provide concise updates to brokers.
• Chase brokers for outstanding documents.
• Ensure underwriting aligns with policy and regulation.
• Underwrite large/complex cases while managing pipeline.
• Prepare Credit Papers for Credit Committee.
