Job summary

Education Matters Group seeks an experienced BTEC Business Lecturer to join a college team in Tower Hamlets, teaching and assessing learners across Business programmes at levels 1–3. Start ASAP.

The role requires delivered, student-centred lessons, strong BTEC background and commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education. You will contribute to curriculum development and be a proactive team player within the college.

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant experience teaching BTEC Business – essential.
• Experience teaching Business subjects within the BTEC/RQF framework.
• Experience working with 14–19 learners in FE settings.
• A relevant Degree or comparable qualification.
• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of assessment, student progress and QA requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive and inclusive approach to learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity in education.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess BTEC Business programmes to 14–19 and adult learners.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons and develop teaching materials.
• Support students with academic progress, achievement and progression.
• Act as personal tutor/course coordinator where required.
• Monitor student progress, attendance and achievement.
• Provide effective feedback and tutorial support.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment and QA processes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support the wider College team.

BTEC Business Lecturer

Location: Tower Hamlets

Salary: £31 per hour

Contract: Full Time

We are currently seeking an experienced BTEC Business Lecturer to join a college team, teaching and assessing learners across a range of Business programmes.

The successful candidate will have proven BTEC Business teaching experience and be confident delivering engaging, student-centred lessons to learners from Level 1 through to Level 3.

The Role You will be responsible for:

• Teaching and assessing BTEC Business programmes to 14–19 and adult learners.
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons and developing appropriate teaching and learning materials.
• Supporting students with their academic progress, achievement and progression.
• Acting as a personal tutor/course coordinator where required.
• Monitoring student progress, attendance and achievement.
• Providing effective feedback and tutorial support.
• Contributing to curriculum development, assessment and quality assurance processes.
