Protocol Education are seeking a BSL-skilled Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN provision in Sunderland. You will work alongside teachers to support pupils throughout the school day, using BSL to aid communication and access to lessons, with 1:1 and small-group support as needed.

The role offers Monday–Friday school hours in term time, with pay ranging £98–£120 per day depending on experience. A TA qualification or SEND experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• BSL proficiency to support pupils in an educational setting.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• SEND experience is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Use BSL to support communication and understanding.
• Support pupils to access lessons and activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
• Help pupils develop communication skills.
• Support social interaction and positive behaviour.
