Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant with BSL skills to support pupils in a specialist provision in Sunderland. The role involves direct communication with pupils and aiding access to lessons, with 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day.

You will work closely with teachers and SEND professionals to support communication development, social interaction and independence for pupils, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• BSL skills with good communication to support pupils
• Experience in specialist SEN or deaf education is beneficial
• Ability to work in a school setting and support transitions

Responsibilities

• Communicate with pupils using BSL
• Support access to lessons and classrooms
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support
