Job summary

ITV Signpost is seeking an On-Screen BSL Presenter based in the North East to join a busy production unit. The role requires a professional on-screen presence, fluent BSL and the ability to translate content into accessible BSL presentations under tight deadlines.

The 9-month fixed-term contract is part-time (18.75 hours per week on average), with an alternating fortnightly schedule and work locations in Gateshead or Leeds.

Qualifications

• Fluency in British Sign Language (BSL).
• BSL Level 6 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience presenting on camera or in media, broadcast or digital environments.
• Proactive approach to work and problem-solving.
• Positive, professional attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Present information on screen in fluent and professional BSL.
• Interpreting and translating content into accessible BSL presentations.
• Preparing for filming sessions by reviewing scripts and content in advance.
• Maintaining high linguistic accuracy, clarity and cultural appropriateness.
• Contributing to accessible content and promoting best practice in BSL communication.
• Managing workload effectively and meeting agreed production deadlines.
