Job summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Communication Support Worker to assist Deaf and hearing-impaired learners in East London’s Further Education settings. The role focuses on delivering BSL support during lessons and enabling access to learning materials.

The ideal candidate will have a BSL Level 3 or above, experience supporting learners, and a fully Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. The role may involve collaboration with lecturers and support teams to promote learner independence.

Qualifications

• BSL Level 3 qualification or above.
• Experience supporting Deaf and hearing-impaired learners.
• Experience working with young people in Further Education.
• Ability to support learners both in and outside of the classroom.
• A good understanding of safeguarding within education.
• Fully Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Providing BSL communication support during lessons.
• Supporting learners to access teaching and learning materials.
• Working closely with lecturers, support teams and other professionals.
• Promoting learners' independence and confidence.
• Supporting effective communication between learners, staff and their peers.
