Job summary

West Herts College, Hemel Hempstead Campus, is seeking an Educational Communicator to support learners in the SEND department. This hourly paid role is based at the Hemel Hempstead Campus and involves 18 hours per week.

You will work one-to-one with learners, using BSL to assist hearing-impaired students, and collaborate with tutors to adapt intervention strategies. Training and development are encouraged, and a cycle to work scheme, free on-site parking and generous pension scheme are available.

Qualifications

• BSL Level 3 qualification required.
• Experience supporting hearing-impaired learners.
• Experience working with learners with learning difficulties or disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to learners in class and outside of class.
• Assist with classroom intervention strategies to meet the needs of the hearing-impaired learner.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and external authorities and work well in a team.
