The role

We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Brokerage Officer, Children & Young People – non accommodation and short breaks. In this role, you will play a crucial part in contributing to the operational delivery of Service objectives at each stage of the commissioning cycle. The role will support the sourcing, negotiating and commissioning of high quality cost effective short breaks services to support children and families, and will also source the necessary support and health services required in line with assessment to support children's social care and improve outcomes for children and families.

What will you be doing?

As a Brokerage Officer, you will work closely with the All Age Commissioning Service and Home Finding Team to develop high quality and responsive services that will deliver improved outcomes particularly for vulnerable children including their families and carers. You will also aim to deliver an effective searching and contracting function regarding short breaks and related services by sourcing and negotiating contracts. This sits alongside recommending short breaks packages or non-accommodation services based on professional judgement and experience.

About You

As a Brokerage Officer you will be:

  • Experienced in working across agencies in the delivery of Social Care / Health / Education
  • Experienced in contracting activity
  • Able to negotiate and co-ordinate services to maximise efficiency and prioritise available resources/capacity
