Job summary

BBC in Salford is seeking a robust Broadcast Equipment Coordinator within Production Services. You will arrange hire and maintenance of self-operating broadcast gear, from cameras to lighting and sound, to support productions across the BBC.

You will monitor assets using a bespoke system and ensure equipment is tested and ready for use. Working with a small but vital team, you’ll travel occasionally and collaborate to deliver reliable technical support, advising productions remotely and on-site,

Qualifications

• Experience using broadcast/production equipment such as cameras and sound gear.
• Strong technical knowledge of audio/visual equipment used in programme making.
• Understanding of management, supply, maintenance and storage of equipment and accessories.
• Proven ability to work in a team with a collaborative, supportive approach.
• Excellent oral and written communication to convey technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Arrange hire and maintenance of self-operated broadcast equipment for productions and individuals across the BBC.
• Ensure equipment is monitored and tracked using our asset management system.
• Ensure all equipment is fully function tested and prepared per production requirements.
• Support in the movement of equipment by arranging couriers or providing shipping lists for Carnets.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to productions both remotely and in person.
• Occasional overnight travel to assist with events or to cover London/Glasgow offices as required.
