Job summary

Ofcom is seeking a Licensing professional within the Broadcasting and Media Group's Delivery and Strategy Hub in the UK. You will assess TV and radio licences, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and managing a varied caseload.

You will build strong relationships with applicants and licensees, contribute to policy projects, and collaborate with colleagues across Ofcom to improve licensing processes and guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience processing applications, records, or compliance-related work accurately and to deadline.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement when assessing complex or sensitive issues, identifying potential risks.
• A broad understanding of Ofcom’s regulatory responsibilities and the broadcasting sector.

Responsibilities

• Assess applications for a range of television and radio licences, ensuring applicants meet the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Manage a varied caseload effectively, prioritising competing demands and ensuring timely progression of applications.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with applicants, licensees and internal stakeholders, providing clear updates on licensing matters.
• Contribute to policy projects, consultations and wider programme work as required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Delivery and Strategy Hub to deliver high-quality outcomes and share knowledge.
• Liaise with teams across Ofcom, including Legal and other specialist functions, to resolve complex issues and support robust decision-making.
