Job summary

Ensera Design is seeking a proactive DevOps Engineer in Bristol to own development infrastructure, tooling, environments, and automation aligning with software and engineering teams. You will enhance CI/CD pipelines, workflows, and deployment practices while ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable systems across development platforms.

You’ll collaborate with software, embedded, electronics, and wider engineering teams, driving automation and standardising environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps/Platform Engineering or similar in a software/engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and development workflows.
• Experience administering development platforms such as JIRA, Git, Bitbucket, Confluence or CI/CD systems.
• Experience building, maintaining, or improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Good knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line administration.
• Automation and scripting experience.
• Experience supporting development infrastructure, servers, and services.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and networking fundamentals.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for software teams.
• Identify and automate manual development/deployment activities.
• Improve build, test, integration, and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with developers to create repeatable development processes.
• Support continuous integration practices and feedback loops.
• Monitor pipeline performance and resolve issues proactively.
