Job summary

GDAS in Blackwood, Wales is recruiting a Brief Treatment and Advice Practitioner to join our team delivering short-term psychosocial support to people with substance use concerns. The role is 35 hours per week, permanent, with a salary of £24,834–£27,042 per annum and no direct reports.

You will provide brief treatment, information, assessment, harm reduction, and liaison with local services, developing holistic care plans and contributing to a pathway of recovery within the GDAS service.

Qualifications

• Minimum numeracy and literacy skills.
• Completed accredited training in structured psychosocial interventions.
• Experience giving advice on housing, benefits, education and employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide Brief Treatment for service users for low need and/or motivation to change.
• Form part of the Contact Team providing advice and assessment.
• Deliver Brief Treatment packages and link with community services.
• Provide risk assessment and exit planning.
• Deliver group work and Wellbeing College courses.
