Job summary

Northreach is recruiting a Mortgage Underwriter for its bridging finance team. You’ll own bridging applications from initial assessment through to completion, making well-reasoned credit decisions and supporting intermediary partners to deliver a dependable lending service.

In a collaborative, small team, you’ll discuss cases with introducers and manage your pipeline to funding, while maintaining thorough documentation and a proactive service approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in bridging, refurbishment or development finance.
• At least two years in a mandate-holding underwriting role.
• Ability to produce detailed credit rationales and explain lending decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review bridging loan applications within service levels.
• Assess credit searches, Land Registry reports, valuations and supporting docs.
• Prepare clear credit rationales and identify risks and mitigations.
• Manage cases from application to funding, liaising with solicitors.
• Support introducers with new enquiries and potential applications.
• Maintain accurate case records and data throughout the lending process.
• Provide proactive service to brokers, solicitors and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to improvements in underwriting processes and support colleagues across the team.
