High Speed Two Ltd is seeking a Senior Structures Engineer (Bridges SME) to provide expert bridge engineering input across the HS2 main structures portfolio, working with contractors, designers and HS2 teams.

You will review designs, assess proposals and contribute to standards and governance, balancing safety, constructability, cost and whole-life performance. This role offers hybrid working between London/Birmingham and broad career progression.

Competenze

Significant bridge engineering experience including design, assessment, review or technical assurance.
Experience on major infrastructure projects in rail/transport.
Understanding of structural engineering standards and compliance.
Ability to review complex designs and provide defensible recommendations.
Experience managing technical risks and design departures.

Mansioni

Provide specialist bridge engineering expertise across HS2 portfolio and multiple structures.
Review complex designs, assessments and proposed departures within delegated authority.
Resolve challenging structural issues with contractors, designers and HS2 teams.
Support interpretation and development of engineering standards and governance.
Evaluate safety, constructability, programme, cost, reliability and life-cycle performance.
Engage with Main Works Civils contractors, design organisations and internal HS2 stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for innovative structural techniques and greater efficiency.
