Job summary

Amey is seeking a Site Engineer to join the SBIM team, supporting the maintenance, inspection and renewal of major bridge assets across the Severn, M4 Prince of Wales Bridge and M5 Avonmouth Bridge. You will work with operation teams, subcontractors and National Highways to deliver works safely and on programme.

You will perform engineering checks, maintain accurate site records, coordinate traffic management and support RAMS and permit processes while upholding high quality standards across a

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• CSCS Card or equivalent.
• Experience in civil engineering, highways, or bridge maintenance.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors.
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Provide site engineering support for bridge and structures maintenance, renewal and improvement works.
• Support the Section Engineer in the successful delivery of allocated work packages.
• Undertake engineering checks, measurements, surveys and defect verification.
• Coordinate day-to-day site activities with supervisors, operatives and subcontractors.
• Assist in RAMS, permits and site briefings and related control measures.
• Carry out quality assurance activities including inspections and record management.
• Maintain accurate site records including diaries, photos and test results.
• Support traffic management interfaces and temporary works where required.
• Monitor site progress and report on productivity, risks and completed works.
• Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement across the contract.
