Job summary

Amey Consulting in Newcastle is seeking a permanent Assistant Engineer (Bridges) to join a dynamic team of engineers and project professionals. You will contribute across project stages from inception to completion and develop technically sound solutions for complex infrastructure projects.

The role requires a graduate engineer with a relevant degree, familiarity with standards such as DMRB and Eurocodes, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject.
• Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE, or equivalent.
• Graduate Engineer experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and guidance (DMRB, Eurocodes, CIRIA).

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound engineering solutions.
• Take ownership and contribute to delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Prepare designs, calculations, drawings and scheme deliverables.
• Guide junior staff and pursue professional development.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives and attend progress meetings.
• Drive Health and Safety practices within the team.
• Support bids and work-winning activities.
