BEAR Scotland is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our North-West Bridges Team in either Perth or Inverness, working in a hybrid model. The role supports a busy programme across Scotland’s trunk road network, focusing on design, maintenance, and improvement schemes, with opportunities to contribute to risk assessments and safety documentation.

The successful candidate will have a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, early‑mid career bridge experience, and be working towards IEng/CEng or similar,

Formación

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in bridge design or maintenance (early–mid career encouraged).
• Working towards or holding professional membership (IEng/CEng).
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• A proactive, team‑focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with the design of bridge maintenance and improvement schemes.
• Prepare cost estimates and maintain accurate design records.
• Support project delivery to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
• Update structural records using client systems.
• Assist with contractor coordination and site activities.
• Contribute to risk assessments and health & safety documentation.
• Work closely with colleagues across the Bridges Team.
