Job summary

Amey is seeking an Electrician to join the Severn Bridges Inspection and Maintenance contract, based in Bristol and working on Severn, Prince of Wales, and Avonmouth Bridges. The role is onsite with standard 37.5 hours per week and overtime opportunities.

You will perform maintenance, testing, and installation across bridge infrastructure, including street lighting, PLC drives, and control circuits. A valid ECS card and BS 7671 knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS 7671 knowledge is essential.
• Experience with street lighting and highways electrical works.
• Knowledge of electrical testing and inspection procedures (2391).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair underdeck gantries.
• Test and commission 3-phase and 230V motors and control circuits.
• Work with direct on-line, soft start, and star/delta motor systems.
• Install and maintain 110V/24V control circuits and PLC drive systems.
• Diagnose and fix electrical faults.
• Perform electrical testing and inspection in various facilities.
• Maintain 110V, 230V, and 415V systems including lighting and outlets.
• Design and install new electrical circuits including conduit and trunking.
• Record and report works, faults, and test results to clients.
