Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in the South East is seeking an experienced bricklayer to join a further education provider and deliver brickwork training to learners working towards industry-recognised qualifications, combining practical workshop sessions with classroom theory.

Teaching experience is not essential, and if you're coming straight from the trade, we offer training, mentoring and ongoing professional development to help you transition into teaching and develop your skills.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in brickwork or equivalent trade experience.
• Strong industry background in bricklaying and masonry.
• Good communication and workshop management skills.
• Understanding of current industry standards and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom theory.
• Teach across brickwork programmes and support learners through qualifications.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop reflecting industry standards.

Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in the South East, delivering brickwork training to learners working towards industry-recognised qualifications. You'll combine practical workshop sessions with classroom theory, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and working habits the construction industry expects.

Teaching experience is not essential. If you're coming straight from the trade, support is available to help you make the move, including training, mentoring and ongoing professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory lessons.
• Teaching across brickwork programmes and supporting learners through their qualifications.
• Assessing learner progress and giving constructive feedback to support achievement.
• Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop that reflects industry standards.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in brickwork, or equivalent trade experience

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching or assessing qualification
• Experience of mentoring apprentices or trainees
