Job summary

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bricklayer role based in the City of Bristol. The Bricklayer will build, repair, and maintain structures such as walls, foundations, and external features using a variety of masonry materials, ensuring work meets design specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans, setting out work areas, mixing and laying mortar, cutting and shaping bricks and blocks, and checking levels, alignment, and finish. The role also involves collaborating with site managers and other trades, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and contributing to high-end residential and commercial projects. The Bricklayer is expected to work efficiently to project timelines while upholding the company’s quality and craftsmanship standards.

Qualifications

• Strong practical bricklaying skills, including laying bricks and blocks, pointing, and constructing walls, foundations, and other masonry structures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and specifications accurately.
• Sound knowledge of site safety practices, manual handling, and safe use of tools and equipment.
• Experience working on residential new builds, renovations, and groundwork projects; commercial experience is an advantage.
• Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with site supervisors and other trades.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in varying conditions while maintaining high workmanship standards.
• Relevant trade qualification, apprenticeship, or demonstrable experience as a Bricklayer; CSCS card or equivalent certification is beneficial.
• Valid right to work in the UK and reliable transport to the City of Bristol site locations.
