Job summary

Caxton Builders is seeking an experienced Brickwork Site Manager to oversee brickwork and masonry packages across the West Midlands. The role reports to the Project Manager and Contracts Manager, focusing on safety, programme adherence and high-quality delivery on live sites.

The successful candidate will have a bricklaying background or significant experience managing bricklaying teams, with strong organisational and leadership skills and full UK driving licence; travel to Midlands sites is

Brickwork Site Manager

Skilled Careers are working in partnership with Caxton Builders, one of the UK's leading specialist brickwork contractors, to recruit an experienced Brickwork Site Manager to oversee projects across the West Midlands.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager and Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of brickwork packages on live construction sites throughout the West Midlands.

You will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards whilst maintaining excellent relationships with clients, site teams and subcontract operatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage brickwork and masonry packages from commencement through to completion.
• Supervise bricklaying gangs and subcontract labour on site.
• Ensure all works are delivered safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
• Carry out regular quality inspections, ensuring work meets specification and NHBC standards where applicable.
• Plan daily and weekly site activities to maintain programme.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and deliveries.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and technical information.
• Complete site records, progress reports and daily diaries.
• Attend site meetings with main contractors, Project Managers and Contracts Managers.
• Identify and resolve on-site issues quickly and efficiently.
• Maintain excellent communication with clients and internal management teams.
• Ensure a clean, organised and professional working environment is maintained at all times.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background within specialist brickwork or masonry subcontracting.

• Previous experience managing brickwork packages for a specialist subcontractor.
• A bricklaying background or significant experience managing bricklaying teams.
• Excellent knowledge of masonry construction and sequencing.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Experience coordinating subcontract labour and site logistics.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the West Midlands.

Essential Qualifications

• SMSTS
• CSCS Card (Gold Supervisor or Black Manager card preferred)
• First Aid at Work (desirable)
