Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Assistant for its Breast Screening service. You will liaise with the multidisciplinary team and patients, supporting biopsy procedures and clinical examinations, under supervision of specialists.

You will prepare equipment, assist with procedures, document data, and ensure aseptic technique. The role is 37.5 hours per week, with opportunities for professional development and training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs and good all‑round education.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritise and work independently as well as in a team.
• IT and data inputting skills.
• Desirable NHS experience, data input and counselling skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with multidisciplinary team and service users in Breast Screening.
• Assist Consultant Surgeon/Radiologist during biopsy procedures and exams.
• Prepare and check equipment prior to biopsy; chaperone patients.
• Prepare procedure trolley for ultrasound/punch biopsy and dress wounds.
