Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Radiographer with postgraduate Mammography qualifications to support NHS breast screening services. You will participate in screening, assessment and symptomatic mammography, manage high workloads, and mentor junior staff across remote screening sites.

The role requires HCPC registration, full UK driving licence, and ability to travel to multiple screening sites.

Qualifications

• DCR/BSc in Radiography required.
• Postgraduate qualification in Mammography required.
• HCPC registration required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in clinical mammography in screening, assessment and symptomatic clinics.
• Maintain a heavy screening workload and ensure timely examinations.
• Work within examination time constraints of breast screening.
• Prioritise workload and supervise areas of work.
• Mentor trainees and support staff.
• Use hospital radiology IT systems effectively.
• Carry out Equipment QA testing and fault reporting.

• A broad spectrum of experience in general radiography
• Experience of working in mammography
• Up to date CPD portfolio
• Experience of working in the NHS

Desirable criteria

• Experience of working in the NHSBSP

• Able to participate in clinical mammography in screening, assessment and symptomatic clinics
• Able to maintain heavy screening workload
• Able to work to within examination time constraints of breast screening
