Job summary

Wycombe General Hospital in Buckinghamshire is seeking an Advanced Mammographer to join the Breast Unit within NHS Professionals. You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis, and support staff training and workload planning to ensure high-quality patient care.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, participate in audits and governance activities, and contribute to service development with extended hours where required.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Radiographer, essential.
• Qualified Mammographer with a recognised British qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in mammography.
• Experience in breast imaging (screening and symptomatic).
• Active engagement in CPD and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe preparation, positioning and coordination of patients during advanced breast imaging procedures.
• Support delivery of imaging investigations by assisting with procedural requirements in interventional breast care.
• Apply advanced observational skills to support image acquisition decisions during examinations.
• Coordinate departmental activity through prioritisation of tasks in a dynamic clinical setting.
• Support integration of new practices and evolving service approaches in the imaging environment.
• Maintain compliance with safety procedures during clinical interactions with equipment and patients.
