Job summary

Langshott Primary School is seeking a dedicated lead for the Breakfast and Afterschool Club in Horley. You will oversee daily operations, plan activities and ensure safeguarding across sessions, while developing staff and liaising with parents and professionals.

The role requires experience in childcare or education, with leadership skills and a commitment to flexible, term-time hours. Term-time post with some additional hours may be available.

Qualifications

• Educated to A Level, HNC or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable knowledge/experience.
• Experience in childcare, playwork or education; Level 3/4 qualification advantageous.
• Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, food hygiene and school policies.
• Experience supervising, leading or coordinating staff.
• Ability to plan activities meeting children's emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Breakfast and Afterschool Club to be safe, inclusive and nurturing.
• Organise day-to-day operation and oversee sessions.
• Plan and evaluate play, learning and enrichment activities for different ages.
• Coordinate daily routines supporting children's development.
• Maintain safeguarding and liaise with designated safeguarding lead.
• Prepare for inspections and contribute to policies and risk assessments.
• Provide first aid following individual healthcare plans.
• Attend relevant training and professional development.
