Job summary

Air Liquide is seeking an experienced Branch Operations Manager for its Gateshead site. You will direct daily operations, sales activities and a high‑performing team to drive profitability while maintaining safety standards and exceptional customer service.

You will coordinate stock control, dispatch and KPI reporting, working with Sales and Plant Manager to hit targets and ensure compliance with transport legislation and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experienced Leader with proven distribution experience.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to lead and motivate.
• Experience in management or supervisory roles.
• Strong distribution planning and order scheduling experience.
• Knowledge of HASAW Act health and safety requirements.
• Driving licence in full; forklift licence desirable.
• Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems.
• Ability to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

The Branch Operations Manager directs, plans, and coordinates all daily operational and sales activities for the branch. This role is responsible for driving branch profitability, maintaining and driving safety standards, delivering exceptional customer service, and leading a high-performing team.Direct and coordinate activities of the branch concerned with the sale & distribution of products.To abide by the current Safety, Health and Environment policy giving priority to the safety of employees, customers, visitors & contractors at all times.Deliver exceptional customer experience, with a passion and enthusiasm for driving to improve customer satisfaction wherever possible.Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine opportunities for efficiencies and program improvement.Management of team, preparing work schedules & assigning specific duties.Responsible for ensuring compliance to processes & legal obligations including road transport legislationManagement & responsibility for delivery vehicles including road safety & load securityResponsible for the recording of KPI’s & branch related metricsDrive employee engagement. Lead and develop team to create a “One Team” atmosphere.Work alongside the Sales team to help to achieve the Company’s sales and profit targets.Working with the Plant Manager where appropriateSatisfactory operation of the Company’s purchasing and stock control system.Be instrumental in accurate and timely stock counts.Monitor the safekeeping of cash on the premises, with regards to cash sales ensure that the cash book balances at all times .Are you a MATCH?The ideal person for this role will be an experienced Leader with proven experience in a distribution environment.
