Job summary

SIG Roofing, the UK’s leading roofing merchant, is looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in running a busy branch and help deliver great service and specialist products nationwide.

You’ll lead a motivated team, contribute to sales targets, manage stock, pricing, and deliveries, and champion health and safety. The role may involve trade counter, yard, or admin tasks, with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service, preferably in construction or building materials.
• Knowledge of roofing products is a plus but not required.
• Proven team leadership or supervisory capabilities.
• Strong communication and IT skills (MS Office, databases).
• Counterbalance FLT licence would be a bonus; training available.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of sales and margin targets across the branch.
• Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Ensuring efficient stock control, pricing strategies, and timely deliveries.
• Championing a positive health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with all standards.
• Helping maintain vehicles, pre-shift checks, and branch infrastructure.
• Leading by example and supporting a motivated, service-driven team.
• Assisting in identifying growth opportunities and responding to competitor activity.
• Being hands-on and flexible - whether on the trade counter, in the yard, or admin support.
