Job summary

Lawsons is recruiting an Assistant Branch Manager for the AVS Basingstoke branch. You will support the Branch Manager in day-to-day operations, lead the team, maintain high service standards and drive sales performance.

You will build strong relationships with trade and retail customers, manage enquiries, and ensure health and safety procedures are followed in a busy branch environment. A full or partial leadership role is possible as needed.

Qualifications

• Supervisory/assistant manager experience in builders’ merchant or similar.
• Experience in building materials, timber, landscaping or related trade sector.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with trade and retail customers.
• Organised with ability to manage competing priorities in a busy branch.
• Full driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Branch Manager with daily management and smooth operation of the Basingstoke branch.
• Lead and motivate branch colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and meet targets.
• Build relationships with trade and retail customers and identify growth opportunities.
• Assist with sales enquiries, quotations, orders and customer account queries with accurate advice.
• Promote building materials, timber and landscaping products to meet customer needs.
• Coordinate with sales office, trade counter, yard, transport and admin teams to ensure orders are fulfilled.
