Job summary

JDP is launching a new branch in Newbury and seeks an experienced Branch Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations. You will lead a busy branch, drive profitable growth, and deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

You will be responsible for developing the team, managing stock and purchasing, and ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. A proactive, hands-on leader with a track record in branch operations is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising in trade, distribution, wholesale, builders’ merchant, or similar operations.
• Strong leadership to motivate, coach and develop a team.
• Experience in stock management, purchasing, and branch operations.
• Customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to drive profitable growth.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in an operational setting.

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and commercially focused Branch Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our busy branch.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, developing people, and driving profitable growth.

As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of branch operations, ensuring the branch operates safely, efficiently, and profitably whilst providing an exceptional customer experience.

• Protect company assets and maintain branch security standards.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

• Previous experience managing or supervising within a trade, distribution, wholesale, builders’ merchant, or similar operational environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
• Experience in stock management, purchasing, and branch operations.
• A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver profitable business growth.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements within an operational environment.
• The ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
• A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
